The Southern Company has graciously agreed to bring their super users and share with Atl-OAUG their successes and lessons learned in implementing Oracle Applications. Also included will be discussions of their migration from multi-instance to multi-org. Over the next 18 months, Southern Company will upgrade from version 10.7 to release 11. Modules in use are GL, AP, AR, PO, FA, OE, INV, PA, Sales Compensation and Service.

Presentation:  "SQL for the Non-Technician"

This presentation will focus on introducing SQL to non-technical types of Oracle applications users.  Oracle provides a powerful tool for direct access to their database. This tool, SQL*Plus, is based upon a Structured Query Language or SQL.  In this presentation the non-technical Oracle Application user will become acquainted with the methods for making inquiries of and changes to the Oracle Database using SQL.  Examples will be shown using Oracle Application database elements.  This presentation will also discuss considerations for keeping databases secure.  The goal of this presentation is to give the non-technical an appreciation of the power and uses of SQL.
