October Agenda

"E Commerce Implementation Process"

Chiranjib Chatterje, KPMG Consulting

CRM (Customer Relation Management) brings additional functionality to the Oracle Applications suite to support focused customer management. CRM consist of Sales and Marketing, Service, Call Center and E Commerce functionality. Over the last year, CRM has become a key strategic initiative of Oracle Corporation in terms of growing and enhancing its applications suite.

This presentation will discuss an approach towards implementing iStore (Oracle’s E Commerce engine) and how to integrate istore with existing Oracle Applications modules to maximize productivity from Web Sales. IStore. a part of Customer Relations Management (CRM) enables a company to establish, configure and maintain web sites for on-line sales, inventory availability and credit card processing. The iStore module is integrated with Oracle Inventory, Order Entry and Accounts Receivable modules to process inventory transactions, Sales Orders transactions and invoice processing.

This presentation will draw upon the author’s implementation experience of Oracle iStore at a national television network and will describe the challenges and issues in successful implementation and integration with Oracle Applications.

"Technical Foundation – Accounts Payable"

Steve Bradley, Oasis Consulting

This is a continuation of our series of Technical Foundation classes focusing on introducing SQL to non-technical types of Oracle applications users. Oracle provides a powerful tool for direct access to their database. This tool, SQL*Plus, is based upon a Structured Query Language or SQL. The scope of this presentation will focus on account payable interface tables and other major AP application tables (e.g. PO_VENDORS, PO_VENDOR_SITES_ALL, AP_INVOICES_ALL, AP_DUPLICATE_VENDORS_ALL etc.). The focus will be actual utility SQL scripts to find inactive and duplicate vendors, un-merge vendors and change invoice numbers so the vendor can be merged. The goal of this presentation is to give the non-technical an appreciation of the power and uses of SQL.
