Breakout: Figuring Out Where Everything Is Stuck In 11I
Speaker: Randy Watteau, Motion International
This topic will discuss the intricacies of temporary tables within the Oracle environment and identify key tables that need to be maintained to enable transaction closure. Oracle 11I, like previous releases of Oracle Applications, relies heavily on concurrent processes and concurrent managers to move transactions through their life-cycle. If these concurrent processes or managers are not functioning in a timely fashion real-time data will not be available to the users. The lack of accurate and timely data produces a terrible data integrity issue resulting in lack of confidence in the systems and poor or wasteful utilization of key resources pursuing problems. A by-product of inaccurate data is the problem of trying to resolve the root cause initiating the issue. The longer a transaction is delayed from processing the more difficult it is to resolve resulting in the increased magnitude of the problem. This discussion will help identify those critical areas where transactions typically get caught – and identifies monitoring tools to help you alleviate this issue in the future.
