Presentation: "Flexbuilder - As Used in Fixed Assets, Order Entry, Projects and
Purchasing"
Speaker: Christine McCabe, The New Millennium Group
FlexBuilder provides applications with the ability to construct key flexfield
combinations automatically using customized construction criteria. The key
flexfield most frequently built with FlexBuilder is the Accounting Flexfield.
Several Oracle Applications use FlexBuilder to build the Accounting
Flexfield:
Assets, Purchasing, Order Entry, Receivables, Project Accounting .
The basics of Flexbuilder will be discussed in this session. One or
more examples of how you might do a custom implementation for a FlexBuilder
function at your site will be demonstrated, as time permits. If you would like
to do some advance planning for this session you can read about Flexbuilder in
the Flexfields reference manual. You can also review the example discussed in
the online application help (entitled Implementation Example: LaForge Chemical
Company) as this will be the first example discussed in the session.

Presentation: "Growing & Supporting Your Chart of Accounts"(Considering FSG's, Cross Validation Rules, Value Sets, etc.)
Speaker: Brad Eldredge, AnswerThink
The chart of accounts (COA) establishes the framework for how an organization's
financial data may be recorded and reported. The COA should not be thought of
as a one-time setup to be forgotten. Instead, your COA should grow with the
organization in order to continue to meet regulatory and management reporting
requirements. This presentation will address considerations for growing &
supporting your chart of accounts. Specific areas of discussion will include
code combinations, subledger COA dependencies, FSG reporting, Cross-Validation
Rules, etc
