Presentation: "Integration of Oracle Project Accounting with Oracle Project Contracts"

Managing large capital projects can involve many complex contractual issues. This presentation will describe how Mirant Corporation completed the first successful "buy side" implementation of Oracle Project Contracts with integration into Oracle Project Accounting. This session will review the design which included the use of significant Oracle Workflow processes for the management of contract approvals and business document tracking, enhanced change management/cost forecasting capabilities, program/project reporting and integration with a document management system (Documentum).
Speaker Bio:
Mr. Hill is currently Supervisor for Global Reporting and Technology in Mirant Corporation's Power Generation Department. He has over 15 years of project management experience in the engineering, construction and utility industries. He has been responsible for program management reporting for Mirant Corporation's $4B construction program along with $4 B in major equipment purchases. He was the program manager for the first successful "buy side" design and implementation of the Oracle Project Contracts application and integration into Oracle Project Accounting for contract and project cost reporting. He is Mirant’s representative for Oracle’s Customer Advisory Board. Also, he has recently led the effort for Mirant's E-procurement initiative (reverse auctioning) to promote and implement new procurement processes in the construction department resulting in $4 M in identified savings.
