Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) is the process of managing products (and service offerings) from initial concept through the development and prototype phase, to product introduction, through maintenance, and finally to retirement. Oracle is introducing a new integrated collaborative suite that allows companies to reduce development lead times and costs, improve quality and provide a competitive advantange.

Per Gartner, by 2005 50% of the manufacturers listed on the Fortune 1000 will have a PLM project as one of their top 2 IT initiatives. PLM is being recognized as a tool to enable significant improvements in corporate performance.
