A general overview of EDI will be presented along with features of today's software tools for translation and mapping products. A methodology for developing an initial EDI / Oracle requirements plan and implementation will be presented. In addition, information on integrating EDI transactions with Oracle Applications and how you can achieve a fully automated solution will be covered. Transactions supported by Oracle's EDI Gateway and third party integration tools to support other EDI transactions are available. The presentation focus is on standardization vs. customization and the options available for integrated electronic commerce by utilizing EDI and your Oracle Applications.
